Limited Atonement

Word of Caution: The qualifier “Limited” does not mean that Christ’s work on the cross can only atone for sins of a believer to a limited degree (eg: God will forgive X number of sins before Jesus’ efficacy wears off). “Limited” here asserts that when Christ performed His redemptive task, not everyone’s sins were atoned for, just the ones of believers.

It sounds harsh but here’s the best way I can put it (as best as I understand this), God’s elect having unlimited atonement for sins in Christ, but not everyone is God’s elect. It’s a troubling but very biblical reality.
