O holy night, the stars are brightly shining.
It is the night of our dear Savior’s birth.
Long lay the world in sin and error pining,
Till He appeared and the soul felt its worth.
A thrill of hope, the weary soul rejoices,
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn.
Fall on your knees!
O hear the angel voices!
O night divine!
O night when Christ was born.
O night, O holy night!
O night divine!
Truly He taught us to love one another.
His law is love and His gospel is peace.
Chains shall He break—the slave is still our brother.
And in His name all oppression shall cease.
Sweet hymns of joy in grateful chorus raise we!
Let all within us praise His Holy name!

Take, if you want a slice,
If you want a piece,
If it feels alright.
Break, if you like the sound,
If it gets you up,
If it brings you down.
Share, if it makes you sleep,
If it sets you free,
If it helps you breathe.
Don’t come over here
And piss on my gate.
Save it—just keep it
Off my wave.
Cry, if you want to cry,
If it helps you see,
If it clears your eyes.
Hate, if you want to hate,
If it keeps you safe,
If it makes you brave.
Pray, if you want to pray,
If you like to kneel,
If you like to lay.
Keep it off my wave.
My wave.

Today, I wrote a test for Organizational Behaviour at Laurier. It went well. I went on to prove two theorems from Linear Algebra during my Accounting lecture (no wonder I have no idea what’s going on in that class).
Here’s an awesome song from Rock Band 2, Kansas’ “Carry On Wayward Son”. Do make sure to check the lyrics after the jump.

Since my interview the other day, I’ve been quite into the band Rush’s song, “Tom Sawyer”. It’s an old-school song from and old-school band, and it’s in Rock Band.
You see, apparently my interviewer used to also print tee shirts in his pre-university days. He printed a design for the band Rush that the band members actually liked so much that they offered him the chance to go on tour with them, selling the shirts (AWESOME). That was one of the most interesting/awesome interviews I’ve ever had. I really hope I get that job.
Anyway, the song’s lyrics are after the jump, and have a listen. It’s probably not for everyone, but it’s a pretty badass song for those who like this kind of stuff.

I opened my eyes last night and saw you in the low light
Walking down by the bay, on the shore,
Staring up at the stars that aren’t there anymore.
I was feeling the night grow old, and you were looking so cold,
So like an introvert, I drew my over shirt
Around my arms and began to shiver violently before
You happened to look and see the tunnels all around me,
Running into the dark underground.
All the subways around create a great sound.
To my motion fatigue, farewell.
With your ear to a seashell,
You can hear the waves in underwater caves,
As if you actually were inside a saltwater room.
Time together isn’t ever quite enough.
When you and I are alone, I’ve never felt so at home.
What will it take to make or break this hint of love?
Only time, only time.
When we’re apart, whatever are you thinking of?
If this is what I call home, why does it feel so alone?
So tell me darling, do you wish we’d fall in love?
All the time. All the time.
Can you believe that the crew has gone,
And they wouldn’t let me sign on?
All my islands have sunk in the deep,
So I can hardly relax or even oversleep
When I feel warm with your hand, in mine,
When we walk along the shoreline.
I guess we’ll never know why sparrows love the snow.
We’ll turn out all of the lights and set this ballroom aglow.
So tell me darling, do you wish we’d fall in love?
Yeah, all the time.

Yep, I knew there was something special in these guys when I first happened upon them (mostly by accident) at the concert a week and some back. I’ve gone and sought out their music, and am quite pleased with what they’ve got to offer. This is Mew’s “Snow Brigade”, from the album “Frengers”.
