An Insecure, Self-Hating Rebel? Neighbour Please…

I just took a personality test linked by Kristen. Check out what I got (which, incidentally, exactly what she got–queer, or just a crappy test):

Your Profile:

  • You have a great need for other people to like and admire you.
  • You have a great deal of unused capacity which you have not turned to your advantage.
  • Disciplined and self-controlled outside, you tend to be worrisome and insecure inside.
  • You prefer a certain amount of change and variety and become dissatisfied when hemmed in by restrictions and limitations.
  • You pride yourself as an independent thinker and do not accept others statements without satisfactory proof.
  • You have a tendency to be critical of yourself.
  • At times you have serious doubts as to whether you have made the right decision or done the right thing.
  • At times you are extroverted, sociable, while at other times you are introverted, wary, reserved.
  • While you have some personality weaknesses, you are generally able to compensate for them.

Check it out for yourself here and comment with your results, if you like.

Hmm, I got the same thing as you did. Odd.

Those 2 are a little weird, and I wouldn’t really relate them to myself. The other stuff is vaguely around how I picture myself.

    Gasp.

I got the exact same thing too. Then I got ticked and checked “strongly disagree” for every single one and pressed okay again. Guess what; you get the same result whatever you pick.

Oh…wait, never mind. Forget picking – you get the same pop-up whether you click anything or not. Either it IS a crappy test, or it’s a deep, hidden message about how we’re all the same. Right. :)

someone out there with basic website-writing knowledge wants us to think that we secretly think miserably of ourselves, and leaving just enough hope for us to not question the results more than necessary: You have a great deal of unused capacity which you have not turned to your advantage. While you have some personality weaknesses, you are generally able to compensate for them. nuh-uh. i don’t think so. i’m good. you can mope by yourself in that corner.

Just in case no one notices, this is an experiment in which it gives everyone the same results to see how people relate to it. It is similar to how horoscopes seem to explain everyone born under the same sign. The degree of vagueness of the results allows most people to agree to the analysis.
