I regret making fun of my knicks on my fingers as being imitations of Kristen’s cut yesterday. This is largely due to the fact that I just sliced my thumb open with a knife while cutting tomatoes for pasta sauce for lunch. This was not minor cut (it’s a little more than 0.5 cm deep and about 1 cm long around the curve), though I am lucky that I seem to have missed all major blood vessels and nerves in my thumb. I feel nothing. I would have bled more if I hadn’t seized upon my thumb almost instantly and then, by the advice of my dad over the phone, I applied styptic to it with one hand, some cotton balled, and a butterfly bandage to seal the deal. I’m good now, thanks. No stitches in me, still, but it was sort of jarring. Especially when I felt dizzy/woozy as I was talking to my dad over the phone, while watching my left hand tremble uncontrollably. It’s always fun and adventures here on the Carl Show!
Anyway, thanks goes to my dad for helping me out and giving me instructions to stop the bleeding. He also called me back after a few minutes to make sure like, I hadn’t passed out on the kitchen floor with spaghetti and tomatoes strewn around me and tucked in my various crevices. You’d be surprised how little of first-aid/Bronze Medallion training you remember when you yourself are the one in need of it!

I did take first aid, which is what the Bronze Medallion stuff is about. That was a couple years ago, but I know most the procedures (though my CPR is probably a little outdated). Tell me how that rescue course works out! I might want to take that when I get a chance.
